Helioscopie is a major player in the treatment of obesity and its
support. Our company is amongst the most dynamic in the specialised
medical implant sector.
Our aim is to offer high quality implants making it possible
to treat patients effectively in complete safety.
Today, Helioscopie is widening its field of competence by opening
an Oncology Department.
Helioscopie has developed:
- A range of adjustable gastric bands (Heliogast®)
- An intragastic air balloon (Heliosphere®)
- A range of implantable sites (Heliosite®)
The business is organised around one major objective:
Manufacturing products which make it possible to treat patients
effectively, in complete safety and in the best conditions.
The manufacture of products is carried out in an environment
that has ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certification, obtained in September
2001.

Innovation
The investment in Research & Development represents
13% of Helioscopie’s turnover and a team of 6 works permanently
with the aim of improving and constantly developing the range
of Helioscopie
implants.
To date, Helioscopie has registered many competitive patents for innovative, high-performance implants with the aim of providing treatment efficiently and comfortably to patients.
For this reason, our company won the Innovation Trophy from
Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nord Isère in 2004.
Scientific validation
The main mission of the Scientific Department is to support Research & Development
in the management of the portfolio of patents and in the development of validation
tests and the production of new products.
Information and training for doctors
The Medical Department provides information and training for
practitioners. It is the preferred interface between doctors
and Helioscopie.
To date, 1500 surgeons and 500 gastroenterologists have been
trained by Helioscopie in the surgical techniques of gastroplasty
and the insertion of intragastric balloons.
Total control of the manufacturing chain
The Quality Department carries out numerous tests at each
stage of product manufacture.
Manufacturing is performed in rooms with a controlled atmosphere
(known as “Class 10,000 clean rooms”). Initial
contamination of products is thus controlled.
This control of the manufacturing chain has made it possible
for Helioscopie to obtain ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certificates.
