Une publication récente sur l’expérience brésilienne avec plus de 40 000 ballons posés permet une vision consensuelle de l’état de l’art du traitement du surpoids et de l’obésité par ballon intragastrique (BIG). Selon ce collège d’expert, le ballon a un large éventail d'indications, des patients en surpoids (indice de masse corporelle [IMC] ≥27 kg/m2), aux obèses qui ne répondent pas aux critères de la chirurgie bariatrique, et aux super-obèses (IMC ≥50 kg/m2), comme passerelle vers la chirurgie bariatrique. HELIOSPHERE répond à ces indications.
