GASTRIC CALIBRATION TUBE
The gastric calibration tube is a device used in bariatric surgery to perform gastroplasties such as sleeve gastrectomy, bypass or placement of a perigastric ring. It comes in the form of a silicone tube with or without an inflatable balloon. It is used to calibrate the stomach during the operations, and the inflation of the balloon makes it possible to create a gastric pouch below which a gastric band will be placed.
